Alex Wentzel (1997, he/him) is our energetic and dedicated conductor. He graduated in 2020 as a music teacher from the ArtEZ Conservatory in Enschede, where his studies focused on choral conducting and arranging music for choirs.
After ArtEZ, Alex continued to develop his skills in arranging, composing, and conducting at HKU, with a strong emphasis on pop and jazz music. He then completed the Master’s programme in Vocal Leadership at Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam, where he gained new insights and techniques that he applied directly in rehearsals. In addition, he is active as an arranger and is one of the conductors of another Utrecht-based choir, Space Choir.
We value Alex for his musicality and strong technical skills, but especially for his humor and enthusiasm. He is a conductor who truly connects with the choir and works in a respectful and attentive way. He can be firm when needed, yet always keeps rehearsals lively and ´gezellig´. We are incredibly happy to have Alex and love working with him.
